HIIIT
HIIIT is a Dutch ensemble that develops and performs contemporary percussion music and is based in The Hague. The ensemble was founded in 1977 as Percussion Group/Slagwerk Den Haag and presented itself as HIIIT since 2023. Bringing the ensemble into the digital realm with electronic instruments, they asked for a rebrand giving the feeling of the digital age and the effect of music. As a part of LAVA I worked on the concept and the creation of a motion design system. By making the three i’s the main character, it allowed us to create a motion design system that brings out the interplay between them, capturing the rich nature of percussion, scripted in After Effects.
